ONLINE Maine Permaculture Design Intensive

2021 Dates Coming Soon!

The Resilience Hub and Midcoast Permaculture Design present a crash course in the essential aspects of a permaculture design process that has been developed and honed in Maine over the last decade of professional practice. We are excited to announce this streamlined, virtual Permaculture Design Intensive, during which students will be guided through the steps of the design process and given the tools to begin to design their own residential spaces.

We will start with the basics of permaculture philosophy and work our way to practical design exercises that will be of immediate benefit, such as goal articulation, ecosystem observation skills, edible landscaping techniques, annual and perennial plant polycultures, base mapping, and a step by step system of layered design. We will mix it up with basic and advanced concepts and practice so that students feel supported in overcoming that feeling of “not knowing where to start.”

This course is geared towards folks from Maine and New England, and is limited to 18 participants. Sign up today!

This is a timely, thought-provoking, and immersive class that will connect you to the land and community on a deeper level. I left the class feeling not only inspired, but also equipped to make thoughtful design decisions. –Anna, Portland ME

This was an amazing introduction to Permaculture Design. Having my base map in my hands makes me feel like I have an understanding of what I’m looking for, what to focus on, and what possible designs to consider moving forward. -Mikayla, Gorham ME
